I love Christmas Time. The world seems like a more wonderful place this time of year. Everyone seems happier. I just Love seeing all the smiles as I’m out and about. It’s just amazing to me how much happier people seem to be this time of year. I think it’s because of all the gift buying. Even when you don’t have much it always makes you feel better to give. And every time I buy a gift or anything really I always think “How lucky am I that I can afford this” I’m not rich and I’m not 100% sure I’d even meet what ever the middle class classifications are…. maybe lower middle class. I don’t know. But what I do know what ever I am it’s enough to get me all the things I want including giving to those around me.
Something I find interesting about this time of year is how much I love the movies – not just in theaters but the hallmark movies etc… It’s like they are all perfect for me and just so moving and inspirational. (Halloween is the worst movie time for me since I’m not a fan of scary movies.) I used to never write about movies or TV even though I have always found so much inspiration and wise thoughts, ideas, and beliefs in them. But This last month I have decided to change that. I should have been writing about movies and TV all along. This is America – we like our distractions and TV is big one.
The trick is to take those distractions and make them meaningful :)And I’m telling you if your watching the right shows and movies they are just as valuable, motivating and plain inspirational as a sermon or self help book or CD. There is always a positive message just got to open your ears and heart to hear it.
So today I decided to check out my favorite site to see what’s good to watch and I came across a movie called “The Ultimate Life” There was a couple REALLY GOOD reviews so seemed like it was for me. This is TRULY an AMAZING movie.
The plot is : A billionaire with questionable priorities re-examines his life after discovering his grandfather’s journal. The movie starts in the present briefly then goes back in time and you get to meet RED the billionaire grandfather. The beginning was inspirational and the middle was well kinda depressing but in the best way possible. LOL. And the END….Well you’ll just have to watch it to find out.
THE ULTIMATE LIFE reminds us….
1) Gratitude! Gratitude! Gratitude! (the golden list)
2) Know what you want
3) Get specific
4) Believe you can
5) Don’t settle for Less – Know you will get what you came for
6) Be enthusiastic – remember the quality of you life is ENTIRELY determined by how we feel. Not who we are or how much we have…But how we feel.
7) You always get what you are willing to give everything else up for …..What the movie didn’t teach but I believe it true…
8) You can have it all…. I know that’s true! I wish the movie went longer. I wanted to see more of RED. I would love a sequel!
