How to Choose Happiness

My 4 step guide to happiness now!

First recognize that the quality of our lives is ENTIRELY determined by how we feel.  Really think about it.  Your emotional life shapes your available perception on all events, situations and personal encounters.  When you’re Happy your whole perception of the world around you changes.  When you are happy people seem nicer & circumstances seem better.

Second decide you want an amazing quality of life.  Now this maybe a tough one for you if you believe you are not worthy enough to have an amazing quality of life to decide to have one.  So if you are one of those self sacrificing people:  remember you are human being; a sentient being and just because of that you deserve an amazing life.  But you have to believe you do and more importantly you have to want it.

Third follow your Bliss.  Literally!  As you go about your day (forget about the long term – think moment to moment) follow what makes you happy.  A lot of this is not external.  Most of what determines our happiness is completely internal.  It’s all about our internal thoughts and perceptions of people, places, & things. Try to always choose the best feeling thought or action in each moment.  Not the best – but the best feeling one that you have access to in this moment.   For example:  If you’re sad & depressed – anger would feel much better.  Don’t try to jump from depression to bliss; under most circumstances it cannot be done.  Try Abraham-Hicks emotional guidance scale (below) to find the next step up from where you are right now and do what you can to move up just one step.  But keeping moving towards your bliss & don’t beat yourself up along the way.   Allow yourself to feel all the emotions along the way.  And remember your emotions are your guidance from your higher-self.

Lastly find tools to help you along your path.  Tools come in many forms.  They can be people, places or processes. The people are the ones who brighten a room when they enter; spend more time with them.  The places are those ones that when you’re there you can’t help but to be grateful for all that surrounds you; like nature. And the processes are like the ones listed on this blog label: Happiness Tool; like Meditation or Afformations. Tools can be a great help because they help you to focus.  Anything that pulls your focus to a place that feels good internally is a great tool and should be utilized.
